NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 2004
Dear Students / Parents,
Welcome to the second news letter
for MEDI-MAR, we will aim to bring you one of these each month letting
you know what is going on with the club any future events.
The new class structure is working
well and will continue.
6.00 – 7.00 pm Junior Class
7.00 – 8.00 pm Junior Class
8.00 – 9.30 pm Junior and Senior Advance Class
You can of course attend any lesson,
or as many, as you like. These lessons will focus more on the levels
that are being trained to help students progress.
Just to remind you as from April
2004 we will, unfortunately, have to put up the lesson charges due
to the hall prices being increased. Theses will go up from £2.50
to £3.00 per one hour lesson but remain at £4.00 for
the senior class 8.00 – 9.30 pm. The senior class still has
low numbers and we are hoping that a few higher grades will move
up to this class. Anyone wishing to come along to the senior class
then please ask any instructor.
A new Ladies only class is now available
please ask for more details.
We now have the details of the competition
that will be held by Silver Dragons Martial Arts for Sunday 21 March
2004.
Full details will be issued 18th
February 2004
We hope to put forward a team for
next competition and already have a few students that are very interested.
They will have points fighting, continuous, kata and team kata in
various age groups and belt grading also an overall Team Challenge.
We will start training now for this competition so that we make
sure we come away with lots of trophies!
Dean Harrison – Dean is a
2nd Dan Black Belt in Wado Ryu with Silver Dragons Karate Club and
he also runs his own club on Friday in Ashingdon. Dean will be assisting
teaching and grading at MEDI-MAR.
Jon Fortis – Jon is away working
in France at the moment but is due back for the competition and
then fully back from April 2004.
From time to time we will have other
instructors teaching at the club, either in the same style or a
different Martial Art. These instructors will be known to MEDI-MAR
and will be fully qualified.
We are hoping that a guest instructor
will be coming over to us in April 2004 to teach for one night,
we won’t give too much away as he may not be able to make
due to work commitments. We will keep you informed
Our web site has now gone live and
has all the information regarding the club, latest news and class
details. We will be putting on names and photos of students (unless
stated by either yourself or parent that you do not want your photo
to be placed on the site). We will have a historical history of
competitions that we have entered and who won what from MEDI-MAR.
Any comments on the Web Site would be appreciated.
