NEWSLETTER 7– JULY 2004

Dear Students / Parents, Welcome to the seventh newsletter for MEDI-MAR:

Equipment

Anyone wishing to order equipment please speak with Harvey. Orders must be in and paid for by 7th for delivery by 14th.

T Shirts - We only have two T-Shirt left for sale, one size 9-11 year old and one size 5-6 year old - £15 each so first come first served. More T Shirts will be ordered but we will wait until we have a confirmed amount of orders, also speak to Harvey about this.

COMPETITION – 4th July 2004 – Well Done!

Well done to everyone who took part at the competition on Sunday, it was a great day and we all did very well. We only put a small team out this time but still came away with a trophy. Seven different clubs took parts with lots of different styles of Martial Arts such as Freestyle Martial Arts, Traditional Karate, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Chinese Kempo and various other mixed styles. There were 72 competitors in total and it was the first time at these competitions that a mixed team from two different clubs entered a category. Medi-Mar and Silver Dragons entered the team Kata section, Sid (Medi-Mar) and Lucy (Silver Dragons), they did Pinan Nidan Kata together and they did very well.

9-12 Year Old Points Fighting – 2nd Luke L

The Medi-Mar students that took part this time where Sid E, Lauren D, Luke L and even Harvey had a go at the Men’s Points category!! John and Andy where corner judges at this competition.

The next competition will be in November (date yet to be confirmed) so let try and get a big squad out this time, it is a good day and is very well run by Mel Spicer from Silver Dragons Martial Arts.
