NEWSLETTER 6 – JUNE 2004

Dear Students / Parents, Welcome to the sixth newsletter for MEDI-MAR:

Equipment

Anyone wishing to order equipment please speak with Harvey, especially if you require anything for the grading or competition. Orders must be in by 2nd for Grading or 23rd June for the competition.

T Shirts - We only have three T-Shirt left for sale, 2 x medium and one size 9-11 year old - £15 each so first come first served. More T Shirts will be ordered but we will wait until we have a confirmed amount of orders, also speak to Harvey about this.

COMPETITION – 4th July 2004 – Confirmed

The venue for the competition is: Greensward Fitness Centre, Greensward College, Greensward Lane, Hockley, Essex.

If you wish to enter the competition you must pay the entry fee by 30th June 2004

Entrance fee must be booked in advance Cheque’s payable to M Spicer:

£10.00 (For one category)
£15.00 (For more than one category)

Please speak to Harvey if you wish to enter the competition.

GRADING - 16th June 2004 – Full details now available

Grading will take place 16th June 2004. Everyone should now have a syllabus and should be practicing for the grading. If you are not sure of a move please ask us and we will be glad to run through it with you. All students must wear their full white karate uniform (NO T-Shirts) as well as all instructors awards. If you are not ready or do not wish to take your grading this time don’t worry, that’s perfectly fine. It will only be grading on 16th June 2004, no classes will take place.

The next two weeks classes will be concentrating on the grading syllabus. If you would like to run through any specific items then please ask.

Extra tuition can be given at the weekend but this must be pre-arranged with an instructor, the weekends are getting booked up with extra lesson so please book now. See Harvey for details. Due to holidays an extra Grading evening will take place 30th June during the normal lesson time, please ask for details.

Extra tuition timetable;

Saturday 5th – All day available
Sunday 6th – All day available
Saturday 12th - All day available
Sunday 13th – PM Only

Grading will be £15.00 (as always!) This covers the lesson, belt and certificate. We have had a number of students take the grading and not pay for it, miss a few weeks then hope to get the belt. If you do not pay for your grading then you will not receive your belt or will not be allowed to grade until this amount has been paid. This club is not run for profit and in fact costs the main instructors to keep going!

An assessment will be made on students wishing to go for gradings on Wednesday 2nd June.
