Dear Students / Parents, Welcome to the fifth newsletter for MEDI-MAR:
With the new class structure in place we now have room for some
more students, if you know anyone that would like to come along
and give Medi-Mar a try. We can cope with 30 students at each class,
as there are four main instructors with a number of students that
assist during the class.
At present we have the following attendance so place are becoming
limited.
6pm – 7pm 18 Students – 12 places available
7pm – 8pm 13 Students – 17 places available
8pm – 9.30pm 12 Students – 18 places available
We are also thinking about doing another class during the week.
The best day for this so far looks like Monday. It will be at a
new location but still fairly local, if anyone has any ideas for
a venue then please pass them on.
Anyone wishing to order equipment please speak to Harvey, especially
if you require anything for the grading.
T Shirts - We only have three T-Shirt left for sale, 2 x medium
and one size 9-11 year old - £15 each so first come first
served. More T Shirt will be ordered but we will wait until we have
a confirmed amount of orders, also speak to Harvey about this.
Another open competition has been provisionally arranged by Silver
Dragons Martial Arts for Sunday 4 July 2004. This will be their
fifth open competition, of which we have taken part in three. Harvey
was a main Judge for the last competition with Jon and Andy as line
Judges. We are still waiting to receive details regarding this and
as soon as we have these we will pass them on.
Jon Fortis – Jon is now back teaching and is very pleased
with how everyone has come on and their commitment to training.
We would like to thank the students that come along to the earlier
classes and help teach and assist. This help is very much appreciated.
From time to time we will have other instructors teaching at the
club, either in the same style or a different Martial Art. These
instructors will be known to MEDI-MAR and will be fully qualified.
We will be expecting to have some other instructors helping during
grading.
The site is always being updated with news and pictures. Please
keep checking it out. Any ideas for the website will always be welcome.
The next grading will take place 16th June 2004. Everyone should
now have a syllabus and should be practicing for the grading. If
you are not sure of a move please ask us and we will be glad to
run through it with you. All students must wear their full white
karate uniform (NO T-Shirt) as well as all instructors awards. If
you are not ready or do not wish to take your grading this time
don’t worry that’s perfectly fine. It will only be grading
on 16 June 2004 no classes will take place.
A grading hand out will be available 2nd June 2004. This will inform
everyone what time their grading is and what will be going on.
The next three weeks classes will be concentrating on the grading
syllabus. If you would like to run through any specific items then
please ask.
Extra tuition can be given at the weekend but this must be pre-arranged
with an instructor
Grading will be £15.00 (as always!) This covers the lesson,
belt and certificate. We have had a number of students take the
grading and not pay for it, miss a few weeks then hope to get the
belt. If you do not pay for your grading then you will not receive
your belt or will not be allowed to grade until this amount has
been paid. This club is not run for profit and in fact costs the
main instructors to keep going!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Harvey Jon Andy Dean
